Measures glycated proteins in the blood, mainly glycated albumin, to reflect average blood glucose levels over the previous 1–3 weeks.
Used to monitor short- to intermediate-term blood glucose control, particularly when HbA1c may be unreliable, such as in conditions that shorten red blood cell survival.
