Measures LDH enzyme in blood. LDH is found in many organs and can rise when cells are damaged or break down, so it is a broad indicator of tissue injury.
Used as a general marker of tissue injury (for example hemolysis or liver disease) and to follow trends in some cancers or other conditions where LDH is known to be elevated.
