The ALEX multiplex specific IgE profile provides a broad assessment of IgE sensitisation from a single blood sample. It simultaneously tests 295 whole-allergen extracts and molecular allergen components, together with total IgE.
The panel covers:
- Grass, tree and weed pollens
- House dust and storage mites
- Moulds and yeasts
- Pets and farm animals
- Insect venoms and cockroaches
- Milk, eggs, meat, fish and seafood
- Grains, legumes, nuts and seeds
- Fruits, vegetables and spices
- Latex and selected additional allergens
Testing molecular allergen components provides more detail about the specific proteins involved. This may help a clinician evaluate sensitisation patterns, possible cross-reactivity and potentially relevant allergen sources.
Results indicate IgE sensitisation and do not, by themselves, confirm a clinical allergy. They should be interpreted alongside symptoms, exposure history and appropriate medical advice. This test does not assess food intolerance.
