Used to investigate suspected inherited haemolytic anaemia, particularly when clinical findings, CBC, haemoglobin typing or standard thalassemia testing do not fully explain the condition. Results may help identify thalassemia, red blood cell membrane disorders and red blood cell enzyme deficiencies and support diagnosis, family testing and genetic counselling.
